End Point Assessment - Cambridge Regional College

End Point Assessment

End Point Assessment Guides

End Point Assessment (EPA) is the final assessment for an apprentice to ensure that they can do the job they have been training for as part of their apprenticeship standard.

EPA is separate to any qualifications or other assessment that the apprentice may undertake during the on‑programme stage of the apprenticeship.

At the end of an apprenticeship, the apprentice will go through a ‘gateway’ process where they are signed-off as ready for a final assessment of their knowledge and practical capabilities. The assessment will be graded (in most cases) and the Independent Assessment Organisation (IAO) and assessor must be independent of, and separate from, the training provided by the provider and employer.

Each apprenticeship standard will have different End Point Assessment requirements, specific to the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that they have developed through their apprenticeship.

In order to provide some additional guidance regarding EPA, please see below for some handy guides that give and overview to EPA for the apprenticeship standards offered by CRC.
