The college has its own motor vehicle garage where students are able to work on vehicles, under the guidance of lecturers, and learn real hands-on, customer-focused skills. Tutors are all experienced in the industry, and learners will be taught on the latest equipment in a real-work setting – building the employability skills employers want.
We have excellent relationships with local employers and work closely with them on apprenticeships and work experience.
Past students have chosen to continue their studies in automotive technology and automotive engineering at universities including Birmingham City, Manchester Met and the University of Hertfordshire. Students have also progressed on to apprenticeships with leading car manufacturer SEAT and the East of England Ambulance Service.
In addition to the main qualification, students will gain other employability skills, English, Maths & IT, personal learning skills and social and community skills which are highly valued by employers.
