CRC Student Voice
Student Voice is the collective term for students who represent and support the student body through:
Students’ Union (SU)
All students aged 16+ automatically become members of the CRC Students’ Union when they enrol.
The SU is run by students, for students and works to enhance the student experience while representing student views across the College.
SU Officers and Ambassadors
Students’ Union Officers are elected by students and serve for one academic year. Elections for Presidents and Vice Presidents take place in May, with remaining positions elected during the Autumn term.

The SU leadership team oversees a network of Student Ambassadors, who can apply at any time during the year. Ambassadors support College events, lead projects, and ensure a wide range of student voices are represented, including international students, young adult carers, care-experienced students, and students with disabilities. Meetings take place at least once every fortnight.
Class Representatives
We aim to have at least one Class Representative in every tutor group.
Class Reps receive training through Student Voice conferences and gather feedback from their classmates. They present this feedback directly to department leaders at Department Board Meetings, helping to shape improvements across the College. Class Reps can also take on additional Student Voice roles, such as Student Governor or SU Ambassador, although this is not required. By becoming a Student Voice representative, you can help improve the student experience while developing valuable leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Training is provided at the start of the academic year.

Student Governors
We are seeking one Student Governor from each campus to join the College’s Board of Governors.
As a Student Governor, you will:

General Volunteering
Students can also become Event Ambassadors, supporting College open events while building confidence and employability skills.
Additional volunteering opportunities are available throughout the year, including community projects such as litter-picking and gardening groups.
Student Conferences and Training
Student Conferences provide learners with the opportunity to engage with inspiring external speakers, employers, and industry experts. Through interactive workshops and Oracy Skills training, students develop confidence, communication, and public speaking skills while learning how to express ideas effectively and engage in meaningful discussions. These events support personal growth, leadership development, and employability, helping students build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to be successful in college, the workplace, and beyond.
