Are vocational college courses better than A-Levels?

It depends on your learning style and career goals. A-Levels are more exam-based and academic. Vocational courses at CRC focus on practical skills, coursework and real-world application. Both routes can lead to university, apprenticeships or employment. Many CRC students’ progress to university each year through Level 3 vocational qualifications.

Can I go to university with a vocational qualification from CRC?

Yes. Level 3 Extended Diplomas carry UCAS tariff points and are accepted by most UK universities. Many CRC students’ progress to degree-level study in subjects such as nursing, business, sport science, engineering and digital fields. Entry requirements vary depending on the university and course.

Are the courses practical?

Yes. Our vocational courses are designed to reflect real industry practice. Students develop hands-on skills in specialist facilities and may complete work placements or employer projects. This makes vocational study ideal for students who prefer coursework and applied learning over final exams.

What jobs can I get after a Level 3 course?

Progression depends on the subject. Examples include:
IT → junior technician roles or digital apprenticeships
Health & Social Care → care/support roles or nursing pathways
Engineering → technician roles or higher apprenticeships
Business → administrative or trainee management roles

How many UCAS points is a Level 3 diploma worth?

Level 3 vocational qualifications carry UCAS tariff points, similar to A-Levels. The exact points depend on your final grade. Universities use these points as part of their entry criteria.

Are T-Levels accepted by universities?
