Colleges Week – Adult Learners in Focus

It’s #CollegesWeek2026, and today, we’re shining a light on adult learners who are building new futures through education. With the right support, adult learning can address multiple challenges from closing skills gaps and tackling social isolation, to reducing inequality and strengthening communities.

CRC provides training and educational opportunities for over 7000 adult learners each year across a range of provisions designed to help individuals access the training they need to advance their personal and professional lives, here are some student stories.

Kirstie’s Story

We talked to Kirstie, a learner who recently completed the Logistics and Counterbalance Skills Bootcamp at CRC, about her reasons for attending the course and what she hopes to do next with the skills she’s gained. This is a 4-week programme that provides learners with the core knowledge and hands-on experience needed to work safely and effectively in a warehouse and logistics environment. David’s Story

David, 57, from Ipswich, shares how returning to education at CRC helped him rebuild his confidence, discover a new direction, and reconnect with a sense of purpose after an incredibly challenging period in his life. Read David’s inspiring story here.
