The Digital Marketing Skills Bootcamp, funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and delivered by CRC, is a 12-week online programme. The course gives learners the latest digital marketing skills and strategies, including SEO, email marketing, and social media marketing.
Sharon is a mature student with a background in Human Resources and Business Administration, who is looking to set up her own business.
I want to set up my own small company as I really enjoy marketing. I wanted the skills to do my own rather than outsource it.
Practical skills around all different types of digital marketing activities, what platforms are best for each type of company, and legal and ethical aspects.
It was interesting, real-world orientated rather than a lot of empty theory, fast paced and the tutor, Isha, was fantastic: fast, thorough and helpful. I enjoyed the in-person sessions with Sharon Ryan, who was warm, engaging and fun, and made all the topics relatable and the sessions fully interactive.
It has given me the confidence to start up my business knowing I am able to handle my own marketing, so it is one less thing to outsource and pay out for. I cannot work a traditional job outside of the home due to my autistic home-educated son needing 24/7 care, but I need to earn, so this opens up the possibility of working for myself.
I am in the research and plan phase for my business and expect to be started by the summer. The idea is to create a space to help women dealing with issues like neuro divergencies, parenting neurodivergent children and dealing with the horrors of perimenopause, all with a holistic approach as I love Ayurveda and natural therapies.
As I gain home-ed experience, I will also be helping other parents who want to join the home education community, particularly for SEN and ND children, who need guidance and support navigating the system and the many challenges that come with the territory.
Thank you to Sharon, Charlie and everyone else involved in the course, my experience was very positive and I was sad when it was over!
I would 100% do it all again and recommend CRC courses to others.
Thank you to Sharon for sharing her story with us.
