At CRC we are very excited to be welcoming international students back on campus in September, and we are committed to providing our learners a safe place to call home during their stay with us.
In order to achieve this, we require students and host families to follow, and keep up-to-date with, all current UK Gov. COVID guidelines and we will be strictly enforcing quarantine/ isolation requirements. We will also ask that all students and their hosts take lateral flow tests weekly and report results to the college and Government promptly. In addition, we are also asking our hosts to introduce more frequent cleaning in common areas, such as bathrooms especially during any isolation period.
Currently, around half of the UK population has received both COVID vaccinations, with many more adults expected to receive their second dose before September. As a result of this amazing achievement, the UK is currently expecting to see a major lifting of domestic COVID restrictions by the start of August, which will mean that students arriving in September will hopefully be able to experience a social life in Cambridge unrestricted by rules on social gatherings and venue closures.
Despite the progress made, it is likely that international travel restrictions will still be in place for many months to come. We will work with you to ensure that you know what you must do before and upon your arrival, however we do strongly suggest that you familiarise yourself with the UK Gov. website and frequently check for updates.
“I can’t wait to host international students again, hopefully students coming in September will be able to get out and explore some more of Cambridge again.”
Jacky M, Host Family
