Hands-on vocational education at careers fair

Cambridge Regional College will be taking vocational education to the centre of Cambridge this month for a careers fair aimed at inspiring hundreds of school pupils.

Opportunities Ahead, for secondary schools and sixth form colleges, will showcase courses, careers and apprenticeships at the city’s Guildhall on 23 February.

Student and lecturers from CRC will be offering visitors the chance to look at games development, take part in team-building activities and enjoy a manicure as part of a wide range of practical sessions.

The college’s engineering, hair and beauty, games design, uniformed services, art departments and more will be there to talk about hands-on learning and full-time vocational courses at CRC.

Apprenticeships will also be a big focus on the day, with CRC’s team offering information and advice to visiting pupils.

The event, organised by Form the Future, is open to all schools as part of its Signpost 2 Skills for the Greater Cambridge City Deal. Parents and students are also invited to attend the event in the afternoon.
