You could qualify for full funding, meaning the course will be free to you, if this will be your first full work-focused qualification at level 3, and if you are 24 or above. If you are aged 19-23 you may be eligible for funding through the adult education budget and if this is not your first full level 3 qualification, you may be able to apply for an Adult Learner Loan. Courses will run subject to viable enrolment numbers.
This qualification is for those who work in a health care support setting and will enable learners to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a rewarding carer as a Lead Adult Care worker.
The qualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover core competencies whilst the optional units allow learners to choose from a variety of areas to tailor the qualification to their needs, interests and to reflect the context of their work.
It covers a wide range of areas including
• how to monitor, plan and review a care plan
• how to ensure that dignity is at the centre of all work
• lead and support colleagues in care duties
• support others to understand the importance of safeguarding
• carry out fire safety procedures and manage others to do so
On successful completion of this course you may be able progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care.
Learners must be in a job role that supports the completion of the framework.
All units within the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care will be assessed in the workplace using a variety of assessment methods by a qualified workplace assessor.
