Celebrating Qualifying as a Nurse

Molly Crofts enrolled with Cambridge Regional College in 2014 to complete OCR Level 2 in Health and Social Care and GCSE in maths. Molly passed her Level 2 with a distinction and progressed to OCR Level 3 Health and Social Care while continuing to work towards her GCSE.

During her diploma, Molly completed work experience in a pharmacy which gave her an insight into the different medication used in the healthcare profession, and the opportunity to build on her confidence, communication and team working skills.

At the end of the 2-year Diploma, through a lot of hard work and dedication, Molly achieved a distinction and passed her GCSE maths.

Following her Level 3 studies, Molly was a successful applicant on the Nursing Apprenticeship programme at Cambridge University Hospitals, securing a role on the Cardiology ward. Molly worked as a Health Care Support Worker to achieve her Care Certificate before moving onto the apprenticeship.

Molly worked throughout the Covid 19 pandemic whilst completing her degree and on the 21st April 2022 she completed her final day at Anglia Ruskin University. Molly is now a fully qualified nurse awaiting her PIN and has successfully gained employment on ward K3 where her journey started.

Molly said, “I want to thank all the tutors at CRC, they helped me so much, supporting me to complete my coursework to the highest grade, making sure I met all my deadlines and preparing me for my interview at CUH. I am so lucky to have received this support, I don’t know if I would be in this position otherwise. I can’t wait to get my new uniform. I just can’t believe how quickly the time has passed and that I am now a qualified nurse.”
