Luke Rampley began studying with Cambridge Regional College at the age of 16, on a Level 1 Catering course and progressed through to achieve his Level 2 and Level 3 Chef qualifications. Luke will now spend a year as Sous Chef in the catering kitchens.
To support Luke with his career progression, CRC have developed a tailor-made programme that will see him working as Sous Chef alongside Production Chef Assessor, Tom Sykes. Luke will follow a bespoke timetable of learning and will support new learners in the department as they get to grips with the College kitchens and restaurants.
In addition, Luke has taken on the role of Student Ambassador for the Catering and Hospitality department, where he will use his positive working relationship with the delivery and support staff and knowledge of the department.
Luke has ambitions to progress to university or obtain a full-time job in the catering industry and a year training as a Sous Chef, while taking a leadership role as Student Ambassador, will be invaluable in embedding Luke’s personal development and self-confidence.
Luke said, “I am looking forward to the challenge of working with Tom as his Sous Chef and I am looking forward to my new role as a Student Ambassador for CRC.”
