Most of us are self-taught when it comes to MS TEAMS. This course helps you understand the functionality of this software to make things easier and enhance your own and your team’s productivity. We will look at the main functions of Teams and support you through practical tasks to become a confident user of MS Teams while producing a portfolio of evidence that will enable to you to demonstrate increased competence in MS Teams.
Teams is also constantly evolving and we will look at how you can enhance your current skills and adopt a growth mindset towards Teams as it evolves. We will also look at the Zoom platform, comparing it with Teams in order to get the best from both platforms.
How will this course help me, or my employees, secure work or upskill?
MS Teams is currently one of the most widely used platforms in the world, used to work remotely in a huge range of industries as an alternative to office and classroom based working. Those who worked remotely during the pandemic were forced by necessity to develop their skills with Teams and other platforms such as Zoom. For many this was a steep learning curve, and those who did not work remotely during that period could use this course in order to develop their skills to a similar level and keep up with the current requirements of remote working.

Teams/Zoom are used in almost every working environment in which face-to-face meetings have been unavailable, notably in education, office-based work and in many fields that require personal consultation.
What does the course cover?
- Course introduction: What is Teams? Introduction to the program and gauging initial skills/Needs analysis.
- Creating a Team: Teams features – channels, apps, communication tools, files, members/owners, types of team, Teams Q and A.
- The Teams meeting: Do’s and don’ts of the Teams meeting, Teams settings, functions of the tool bar.
- The Zoom Meeting: Features of Zoom meetings and troubleshooting.
- Teams vs Zoom: How are they similar and different? What are the advantages and USPs of each platform? How can we get the best from both platforms?
- Troubleshooting: MS Education Centre, training on Teams, keeping up with updates.
- Giving a Presentation: PowerPoint, sharing your screen, making presentations interactive.
- Sharing information: Files/Sharepoint, making announcements, pulling information into meetings
- Apps: Getting the best out of apps on MS Teams, integrating Teams with other platforms.
- Collaborating using Teams: Using Teams as a collaborative tool – notebook, assignments, and whiteboards.
- Recording meetings: Transcripts, subtitles, accessibility.
- Practical Sessions: Learner-led presentations on Teams
- Practical Sessions: Learner-led presentations on Teams
- Course Review: Bringing it all together. Teams quiz and final assessment.
How and where is this course delivered?
All of our Skills Bootcamp in Digital courses are delivered remotely using either MS Teams or Zoom.
Dates, times and length of course
Our intensive Bootcamps run for two consecutive weeks between 9-4 Monday – Friday and our flexible Bootcamps run for 3 evenings a week for up to 12 weeks.
