Hospitality Manager (L4) Apprenticeship Standard

Hospitality Managers work across a huge variety of organisations including bars, restaurants, caf?s, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels and contract caterers. These managers generally specialise in a particular area; however, their core knowledge, skills and behaviours are aligned. Common to all managers in this role is their passion for exceeding customers’ expectations. Hospitality managers have a high level of responsibility and are accountable for fulfilling the business vision and objectives which requires excellent business, people and customer relation skills. Individuals in this role are highly motivated team leaders that combine a talent for management and specific industry skills and thrive on the customer facing nature of the role.

Education, Specialist Management, Business Owner.

This Level 4 qualification is for people who wish to further advance their career in hospitality management.  

To enrol, you MUST be employed over 30 hours per week in the hospitality industry, please contact us should you need help in finding suitable employment.  

Apprentices are paid a wage by the employer.  Your employer is required to give you a contract of employment, which will include holiday entitlement and all other benefits. Your job role should provide you with the opportunities for the Level 4 Hospitality Manager Knowledge Skills and Behaviours.  

Entry onto the L4 Apprenticeship Standard requires: Hospitality Supervisor Standard, Hospitality Level 3 Framework, NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Hospitality or the equivalent, C Grades/Grade 4 or above in Maths and English. All applicants will be interviewed- this includes maths and English skills scan, a trade test and a formal interview
We currently offer pre-apprenticeship courses for applicants, in Maths and English, to support learners wishing improve their grades to the entry criteria. Learners should have secured employment.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.

There are three stages of assessment:

1. On-programme stage - observations and online knowledge exams
2. Gateway stage - successful completion of the skills, knowledge, values and behaviours, functional skills and training hours
3. End-point assessment. Initial Meeting. Business Project (9,000 words). On line knowledge exam. Professional Discussion.
This qualification is delivered at college for 1 day per month and reinforced by off job training in the workplace. This will develop the skills set, knowledge-based elements of the Apprenticeship, Values and Behaviours, Functional Skills and meet the 20% off the job training.

Functional skills are delivered and assessed in block weeks at college, with flexibility, relating to the service industry sector.

To study an apprenticeship, you must secure or already be in a suitable an apprenticeship job role with an employer.

Securing an apprenticeship position can be challenging, therefore we advise all aspiring apprentices, who are leaving school, to apply for a full-time course in the same subject. Having a Plan B ensures you can continue with your education in September and build the practical knowledge and confidence you need to progress onto an apprenticeship when one becomes available.
