We are looking for employers to support us discussions around routes into employment, input into our curriculum design and to support our inclusion agenda which will transform the lives of students with SEND in the workplace.
The supported internship programme, a programme for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Cambridge Regional College prepares students to work in areas of their interest and to undertake work placements to support student career progression. Students will develop a range of skills to give them the confidence to undertake different job roles and to put in place routines that will support them to be successful in the world or work.
The programme supports all students to complete a vocational profile to establish existing skills and where there are skill gaps that require further input and development to give students confidence in moving into the labour force. Students also undertake preparation work around the development of a curriculum vitae/personal profile and develop confidence in their interview technique so that they can be successful in interviews through effective communication and self-awareness.
Students are supported via their job coaches and tutor to undertake internal and external work experience.
