Uniformed Services students at Cambridge Regional College turned out in force to help marshal a schools’ cross-country competition – with nearly 300 children taking part.
Seventy-eight students responded to the call for help in ensuring the smooth running of the first School Sports Partnerships Cross Country County Finals competition, held at Milton Country Park.
Organisers South Cambs School Sports Partnership said the Level 1 and 2 students had done a great job.
“We must also thank the Uniformed Services group from Cambridge Regional College who marshalled the event so well and made sure all the children got round the course safely,” they said.
Eight races were run across the 1,600 metre course during the event, with separate events for girls and boys in years 5 and 6, and those in years 3 and 4 – keeping the student helpers busy throughout the day.
