Evan shaves off his beard for charity

Student Evan Restall has shaved off his full beard for charity, baring all to raise money for street children in Morocco.

The 18 year-old Uniformed Services student at Cambridge Regional College emerged clean shaven after a visit to the college’s barbering apprentices – without a beard for the first time in two years.

and after!

Evan, who wants to join the cadets and needed to lose his beard to confirm to British Army regulations, decided to raise money for charity to soften the blow.

“I’ve had a beard since I was 16 and I haven’t touched it for six months, so it feels very strange without it,” he said. “I needed to have it shaved off because I want to join the cadets and after college I’m hoping to join the Forces – and doing it all in aid of charity has definitely helped. It’s all in a good cause, and I’m hoping to raise around £100 to help orphans in Morocco.”

Evan’s tutor Pete Hockey said he was very proud of him.

“It was a magnificent beard and difficult for Evan to lose it, but the rest of his group supported him through the ordeal and sponsored him, so it’s been a great team effort,” he said.
