Digital Skills - Cambridge Regional College

Digital Skills

Digital Skills

The college uses a Moodle-based Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to provide access to information, resources and activities for the benefit of our students, apprentices and staff. In addition, use of Microsoft Teams and other Office 365 applications provides a platform for learning. The college also uses range of other eLearning tools and applications to support and deliver online learning.

You will find out more about eLearning and how to access our online systems as part of your induction at the start of your course.

When you enrol on a course you will be given a login for college systems and an email account for college communications; please make sure you access your college email account regularly.

To access online learning materials from home we recommend the following IT equipment:

Minimum:

  • Smartphone with Teams app installed – you will be able to access lessons but may struggle to complete work on a mobile device
  • Wi-Fi access or 4G mobile data plan

Preferred:

  • Laptop/tablet/PC/Chromebook/Mac with Win10 or iOS 12+ or equivalent
  • Minimum 2Mb broadband internet connection (will work on lower bandwidth)
  • Teams desktop/mobile app or Google Chrome/Edge browser installed
  • Headset and/or mic/speakers

Students who are eligible can apply for a bursary to help towards the costs or purchasing equipment. Please click here for more information.
