Multiply your Maths skills

Multiply is a new government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills. Good numeracy skills may unlock job opportunities and lead to higher wages or prepare you for further study. They also help in everyday life, such as helping children with homework and budgeting money.

Multiply maths upskilling courses are provided free of charge but are only available to individuals who:
  • Live within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority
  • Are aged 19 or over
  • Do not have a maths GCSE at grade C/4 (or equivalent)
  • Have legally been a resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years

Online Courses

Multiply your confidence at home, in your daily life, work, with payslips and bills, budgeting, saving and loans, handling money, supporting the children in your life. Below is a list of online courses we will be offering, click on the link to find out more.

Want to increase your numeracy skills for everyday life?
English not your first language?

We offer introductory maths skills for speakers of other languages increasing your confidence with numbers for the steps towards:

  • Formal numeracy qualifications
  • Improving numeracy for your current job or future promotion
  • Improving your numeracy to help your children
In Person Courses

The course is for 19+ learners with an EHCP in vocational areas and apprenticeships.
Running weekly starting Monday 13th November until Monday 18th December  3:00-4:00pm. Or Thursday 16th  November to Thursday 21st December 11am-12pm
Topics to cover:

  • Budgeting
  • Household planning
  • Shopping (e.g. checking change)
  • making telephone calls to banks, building societies
  • Making telephone calls to utility services around payment
  • Writing follow up messages to companies to support with queries, questions, confirmation of discussions, particularly where finance/payment is the main topic of focus
  • Keeping safe from financial abuse
Increase Confidence with Maths

Aimed at ESOL students without a level 2 qualification in Maths.
Termly 6 Weeks Course Running at both Cambridge and Huntingdon
Weekly starting Mondays 13th November 9-10.30 in Huntingdon (running until 18th December)
Weekly starting Tuesday 7th November 2-3:30 at Cambridge campus (running until 12th December)

Making Sense of Schoolwork

Course designed to help parents understand the Maths topics that their children are studying in school.
Course to cover Maths taught in Primary School, including:

  • Fractions
  • Percentages
  • Shapes
Making your ingredients go further

Running 29th February 5pm-8pm at Cambridge Campus.

Cooking for the Whole Family on a Budget! This FREE* cooking class will teach you key maths skills to help your food budget go further!

Fakeaways at Home

Making your favourite Takeaways for less.  This free cooking course will teach you how to make your favourite Takeaway without breaking the bank!

Maths for Financial Independence

Numeracy courses aimed at those leaving the care system

Will cover managing day-to-day finances, managing on a tight budget, reading bank statements, utility bills, checking any wage slips etc.

Maths for the Workplace and Beyond

For homeless who are actively looking to rejoin employment

Numeracy courses aimed at those beginning the journey back into society. It will provide the numeracy skills often needed in interviews. Managing day-to-day finances, managing on a tight budget.

Moving on Up

This course is designed for workers in elementary occupations/with low or zero contract hours, to upskill their maths for employment opportunities. Content will cover basic maths skills and be tailored towards the relevant industries.
