Our media studies students are continually producing creative work – they write and publish their own award-winning student magazine, make their own films and computer games, and run their own radio station. Successful completion our media courses can lead to become a journalist, web designer, radio broadcaster, filmmaker, events manager, or a games developer – just some of the many exciting career options on offer.
We have strong links with different media sectors, enabling us to offer a fantastic work-related experience within the industry. Our media programmes provide the knowledge, challenge, and hands-on training needed to prepare you for employment or further study.
Past students have gone on to universities across the country – including Coventry, Manchester Met, Brighton and Norwich University of the Arts – to study marketing, event management, games technology, journalism, cinematography, digital film, visual art, animation, and broadcasting. Students are also well equipped to go straight into the workplace.
In addition to the main qualification in Media, students will gain wider employability skills, English, Maths & IT. Personal learning skills and social and community skills are highly valued by employers.
