About the Course

This pathway will help you to develop your independence and skills for adulthood. You will develop your home management skills, creativity, enterprise and also develop a range of skills for greater independence.

Progression

Successful completion of your individualised learning journey will allow you to progress to other courses at the college, to develop new skills for greater independence and/or move towards gaining supported employment/voluntary work.

Entry Requirements

You will be assessed through a transition and induction programme which will ensure that you develop your communication, social, independence, reading, writing and numeracy skills at an appropriate level. There are no formal entry requirements for this programme and your individual learning plan will be developed to ensure that you achieve your goals. Have a keen interest in your chosen subject area.  Please note that entry criteria may vary and this will be assessed by your tutors. For this course you are likely to be working towards Entry Level 2.

Assessment

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC, Huntingdon Campus. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs. You will complete a portfolio of work which will be assessed and you may have the opportunity to achieve nationally accredited qualifications or to develop specific individual targets through our College Certificate. You will also be assessed on your progress through a range of methods including speaking, listening, reading, writing, project based learning, video and photographic evidence.

Once we have received your application, you will be invited to a Welcome Event and for a guidance discussion. Through the Welcome Event you will get the chance to learn more about college and your course. When you have your conditional offer, you will be invited and required to attend new student Taster Days during the summer before the start of your course.
