This programme is for those who are currently working or looking to progress in the construction industry and those who wish to study for a qualification that is recognised by the construction industry. This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to achieve a career in Painting and Decorating.
This role involves operating in domestic and commercial properties and carrying out the decoration and protection of building including, houses, schools, offices and construction sites.
This programme has been developed based on learner and employer needs and has been designed by employers for learners wishing to gain an apprenticeship in a Painter and Decorator role.
The Painter and Decorator apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the required skills to undertake the role. Once you have completed this programme you may have the opportunity to progress onto further development or take on additional responsibilities with your Employer.
English and maths GCSEs at a minimum of grade 3 (D) or equivalent.
Remember, an apprenticeship is a job so the hiring employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met alongside CRC's entry criteria.
End-Point Assessment (EPA) is made up of a number of assessment elements which an Apprentice must pass in order to successfully complete their Apprenticeship. The EPA may include:
• Knowledge Test
• Portfolio-based Interview
• Project Presentation
• Coursework
• Observation
• Professional Discussion
• Reflective Account.
As with all our programmes, this Apprenticeship includes tutorial sessions and individual reviews, giving you one-to-one time with your personal assessor.

Securing an apprenticeship position can be challenging, therefore we advise all aspiring apprentices, who are leaving school, to apply for a full-time course in the same subject. Having a Plan B ensures you can continue with your education in September and build the practical knowledge and confidence you need to progress onto an apprenticeship when one becomes available.
