Business Essentials is split into three learning areas with a range of different sections:



Workplace Awareness



This area of the programme will help you to understand the importance of equality and diversity in the workplace, whilst also considering the general safety and well-being of the workforce. This includes gaining a key understanding of cleaning knowledge and infection control in relation to the workplace.



Sections included in this subject area:



Equality and diversity in the workplace

Rights and responsibilities

Fire safety management

The importance of DSE risk assessments

The importance of COSHH risk assessments

Controlling risks from hazardous substances

Applying safe manual handling principles

Minimising waste.



Personal Health and Well-being at Work



Within this area, you will gain an understanding of the benefits of a healthy and harmonious workforce. This includes looking at key issues such as how a healthy diet can affect staff morale, and the importance of employees' mental health.

Healthy food preparation

Understanding stress

Customer Service and Team Leading
