Installation of Oil and Bio-liquid Fuelled Fixed Combustion Appliances and Systems
This course is for technicians enabling them to install oil-fired appliances such as boilers and AGAs.
Areas covered by this course include, Health and safety, fire valve installation, regional legislation and requirements, safe electrical isolation, knowledge of oil storage and supply, appliance installation, heating systems and energy efficiency.
The course duration will vary depending on prior experience (2 days)
OFTEC and NICEIC Certification Fees apply.
Technical books can be supplied at an additional cost if required.
This course is for new and experienced technicians
Candidates will fall into one of three categories
Category 1 - an experienced OFTEC technician
Category 2 - candidates with relevant plumbing, heating and gas experience may have the necessary skills and understanding to appreciate the concepts and principals involved in the oil industry.
Category 3 - new entrants entering the industry with no prior experience or skills must either
• Demonstrate competence through an apprenticeship NVQ/SVQ
• Seek other appropriate training giving a similar level of manual skills, knowledge and understanding, such as 3 years hands on experience within a related building services sector.

Training is not a pre-requisite for OFT10-105e for candidates holding OFT10-101, but will be provided where necessary
Candidates will undertake practical assessment and multiple choice theory papers.
Assessments are by appointment and can be booked to suit your requirements.
