About the Course

This qualification has been designed to support experienced early years practitioners to build on their knowledge and understanding. They will develop skills that will promote quality, encourage leadership, prepare them for management responsibilities, and allow them opportunities for growth in coaching and mentoring others. The qualification covers:

• Enabling children to learn
• Promoting health and wellbeing
• Special educational needs
• Working with families
• Implementing change

This qualification supports learners to progress into management and other specialist roles requiring significant responsibilities, for example:

Special Educational Needs Coordinator
Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator
Internal progression at a higher level including management responsibilities
This qualification would also support progression to a level 5 qualification and prepares learners for further study of early years in higher education.

Entry Requirements

You should be at least 18 years old and hold a full and relevant level 3 qualification in early years. You must be working in a senior job role (room leader or above) in an early years setting.
