This qualification is for those who are working or looking to gain entry in the role of Internal Quality Assurance for organisations. Applicants are able to undertake a mix of units, dependent upon their circumstances in both accredited learning and non-accredited learning, not just NVQs.
The qualifications are a mix of units designed to provide the knowledge and assessment opportunities to achieve the Level 4 Certificate in Internal Quality Assurance.
• Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes & Practice
• Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
• Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
Participants will need to discuss their current circumstances in order to get the correct mix of units for them, starting with the knowledge award only. This initial meeting will be part of a pre-assessment workshop where the training course will be individually tailored to that participant as designed by your personal mentor.
An important feature of achieving this award, is your knowledge of the standards relating to your occupational area. You are strongly advised to familiarise yourself with the standards you intend to use with your assessors and candidates. You will need to set aside time to work on your own portfolio.
This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to internally quality assure to develop and improve systems at your Centre.
You need not have any prior qualifications to undertake the award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. However, to progress to the other units, you will require either vocational qualifications or suitable length of experience in the subject matter you will be quality assuring. Anyone engaged in quality assuring other
units or qualifications must meet the specific requirements of the assessment strategy related to those units and qualifications.
The planning and reviews will be undertaken on a one to one basis, either face to face or through electronic media devices. The knowledge unit will be obtained either by written statements or recorded discussions assessed to level 4 qualification capacity. Subsequent units will require you to be assessed working as a trainee Internal Quality Assurer monitoring and quality assuring the work of two assessors, each with a minimum of two candidates of their own through components of a qualification.
