About the Course

The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills so they can engage, facilitate, educate and support clients in a gym or health club environment. Regulated by Ofqual, CCEA (Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment) and QW (Qualifications Wales) and awarded by YMCA Awards.

Progression

Our Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing can lead to employment as a gym instructor. Is a pre-requisite for the L3 Certificate in Personal Training and other L2 Fitness CPD qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be aged 16 plus. Ideally, they should have some experience of gym-based exercises as participation in a variety of gym-based practical sessions. Learners should also have communication skills pitched at level 2 which can be developed during the course.

Assessment

The course will be delivered in a variety of ways, with face-to-face contact and distance learning from home.
Therefore, you will be required to be motivated and organised to ensure you complete your studies timely as there are a number of mandatory units on the course to cover and complete. The tutors on the course will be able to guide you and answer all queries whilst you are on the course. You will attend specific dates to carry out your practical and theory studies. All units are assessed via a range of methods such as assessment workbooks, programme writing,  multiple choice theory exams and observations.
