A hospitality team member can work in a range of establishments such as bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. The role is very varied and although hospitality team members tend to specialise in an area, they have to be adaptable and ready to support team members across the business. Specialist areas in hospitality include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, food preparation, housekeeping, concierge and guest services, reception, reservations and conference and banqueting. The most important part of the role is developing fantastic hospitality skills and knowledge such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team to ensure that every customer, feels welcomed and looked after.
 

About the Programme

The course duration is 12-18 months.



Students will be at College 1 day a week to evidence the 20% off job with evidenced employer training alongside.

Alcoholic beverage service-Wine/beer or cocktails

Barista

Food production

Concierge and guest services

House-Keeping

Reception

Reservations

Conference and Events Operations

Progression

After completing the Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Standard, you can progress onto the Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard. There are career opportunities in a wide variety of Catering establishments as a team member, for example bars, restaurants, caf?s, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers.

Entry Requirements

Employed in relevant Job role
Maths and English grade 3 or above or the equivalent.
Successful interview at CRC

End Point Assessment

The Level 2 apprenticeship is assessed by end-point assessment which comprises of:
• On-demand Test
• Practical Observation
• Business Project
• Professional Discussion

Securing an apprenticeship position can be challenging, therefore we advise all aspiring apprentices, who are leaving school, to apply for a full-time course in the same subject. Having a Plan B ensures you can continue with your education in September and build the practical knowledge and confidence you need to progress onto an apprenticeship when one becomes available.
