This apprenticeship is for those who are currently working and those who wish to study for an advanced qualification that is recognised by the construction industry. The course covers the knowledge and skills that are required for the learner to gain a career in the construction industry.

This role involves the safe installation, commission, decommission and the ongoing service and repair of gas appliances in either a domestic or non-domestic settings.

This programme has been developed based on learner and employer needs and has been designed by employers for learners wishing to gain an apprenticeship for a Gas Engineering role.

Progression

The Advanced Gas Engineer is designed to provide you with the required skills to undertake the role. Once you have completed this programme you may have the opportunity to progress onto further development or take on additional responsibilities with your Employer.

Entry Requirements

English and maths GCSEs at a minimum of grade 4 (C) or equivalent.

Remember, an apprenticeship is a job so the hiring employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met alongside CRC's entry criteria.

End Point Assessment

As with all our programmes, this Apprenticeship includes tutorial sessions and individual reviews, giving you one-to-one time with your personal assessor.
We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To support you we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs. You can do this through undertaking a job search and applying and interviewing for available roles. Students who currently attend a Cambridge Area Partnership schools should register their interest through the CAP application system, MyChoice@16.

Securing an apprenticeship position can be challenging, therefore we advise all aspiring apprentices, who are leaving school, to apply for a full-time course in the same subject. Having a Plan B ensures you can continue with your education in September and build the practical knowledge and confidence you need to progress onto an apprenticeship when one becomes available.
