This three hour course will help individuals understand how to eat for less, spend less on their groceries and/or reduce their spending on ‘eating out’. Learners will develop key Maths skills needed to improve number confidence for everyday life and use numeracy skills to manage their money. Learning Outcomes

• Cooking and using recipes
• Set and keep to a budget for a weekly shop
• Manage diet and nutrition
• Managing waste and maximising utilisation of ingredients
• Minimising utilities costs using cooking methods and appliances and commodities
• Time management
• Understanding weights, ratios and underpinning knowledge of cooking
• To support individuals in managing their money to make it go further
Learners will be able to take a dish for two people home with them at the end of the course
Potential to progress onto formal Numeracy courses or qualifications

If you’re aged 19 and over and don’t have maths GCSE at grade C/4 (or equivalent), you can access free numeracy courses through Multiply to build your confidence with numbers and gain a qualification.
