Entry Level Diploma in Occupational Studies for the Workplace (Entry 3)

The course is full-time and takes one year to complete.
The course consists of the following subjects in a variety of units:
• Working in a team
• Problem solving skills for work
• How the body works
• Digital skills
• Food and nutrition for children
• Caring for young children and babies
• Parenting skills
• Improving own confidence

There is 30 hours mandatory work experience in health, social or childcare settings

To achieve the NCFE Entry Level Occupational Studies for the Workplace (Entry 3), learners must
successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units as detailed in this qualification specification.

These qualifications are intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities. Learners can develop a ‘hands-on’ approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in their chosen vocational area(s). The skills, knowledge and understanding gained may help learners prepare for work through real or simulated work situations and may contribute to preparing them for working life beyond education. The NCFE Occupational Studies for the Workplace (Entry 3) qualifications are intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning. Learners may progress to a full Level 1 study programme the following year.

There are no formal academic entry requirements, applicants should be enthusiastic and have an interest in the subject matter, have a willingness to learn and to be part of the college community. In addition, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be completed during taster days and/or induction as part of the admissions process. Once at the college you will have to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check. It is not possible to complete the course without satisfactory clearance.

During your course you will be able to study for Functional skills maths and English and may have the opportunity to study GCSE

Once we have received your application, you will be invited to attend a Welcome Event.
At the Welcome Event you will meet the tutors and get the chance to learn more about college and your course. You will also have a discussion with one of our tutors who will look to make you a formal offer for September.
