About the Course

This qualification develops a basic knowledge of childcare in early years settings. It covers working with children up to the age of 5 years old. The units include subjects such as the value of play, roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers and the importance of developing links in the local community.

Progression

Learners can progress into roles in Early Years setting. For those that wish to study further there are many L2 progression opportunities including  • Level 2 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Playwork • Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care • Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.

Entry Requirements

No entry requirements however it is recommended that you should be volunteering in an early years setting - if you need some help in doing that we can support you to make this step.

Assessment

Full guidance and support is available throughout the 5-day programme from both your trainer & the CRC Hub, avaliable both on campus and online.
