This 4 day course incorporates Training and Assessment of:
OFT10-101 – Single Stage Pressure Jet Servicing and Commissioning
PFT10-105E – Installation of Oil-Fired Combustion Appliances
OFT10-600a – Installation of Oil-Fired Storage and Supply Systems
Areas covered include, Health and Safety, fire valve installation, regional legislation and requirements, safe electrical
isolation, knowledge of oil storage and supply, appliance installation, heating systems and energy efficiency and practical
servicing and commissioning
The course duration will vary depending on prior experience (4 days)
OFTEC and NICEIC Certification Fees apply
Technical books, which are mandatory for assessment, can be supplied at an additional cost if required
This course is for new and experienced technicians
Candidates will fall into one of three categories:-
Category 1 - an experienced OFTEC technician
Category 2 - candidates with relevant plumbing, heating and gas experience may have the necessary skills and
understanding to appreciate the concepts and principals involved in the oil industry.
Category 3 - new entrants entering the industry with no prior experience or skills must either
• Demonstrate competence through an apprenticeship NVQ/SVQ
• Seek other appropriate training giving a similar level of manual skills, knowledge and understanding, such as 3 years hands
on experience within a related building services sector.
Please note: Training is not a pre-requisite to assessment.

Candidates will undertake practical assessment and multiple choice theory papers.
