Imagine if you could play Celtic fiddle with enough confidence to join a Celtic Fiddle music session.
In this 6-week course, we cover techniques to help you develop the skills of playing Celtic fiddle tunes by ear. The course includes instructional videos, tunes to apply the techniques, three Q&A sessions, reviews and replays. Students can attend in their own time, and Q&A sessions are held live with an instructor and are recorded in case you want to listen again.
An introductory course for those new to the violin, as well as those who have been playing for a while and want to learn how to ‘play by ear’ instead of from sheet music.
Classes are a mix of video instruction, and tune recordings for students to practice with in their homework, and group ‘live’ Q&A and feedback sessions, where we discuss challenges, and students may take turns playing using their own violin.
The technique lessons include variable speed tune recordings to get you match fit to join in a live Celtic music session with other Celtic musicians.
Some basic materials will be supplied throughout the course but you may need to purchase further specialist materials.
Materials requirements: Students require their own violin, bow and accessories e.g. shoulder rest, rosin and also a device (phone, tablet or computer) with internet connection.
