This Level 3 qualification is for people who wish to further their career in Hairdressing.
To enrol, you MUST be employed over 30 hours per week in a Hairdressers, please contact us should you need help in finding suitable employment.
Apprentices are paid a wage by the employer. Your employer is required to give you a contract of employment, which will include holiday entitlement and all other benefits. Your clientele should provide you with the opportunities for the Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hairdressing Knowledge Skills and Behaviours.
Entry onto the L3 Apprenticeship Standard requires: Hair Professional Standard, Hairdressing Level 2 Framework, NVQ Diploma Level 2 Hairdressing or the equivalent, C Grades/Grade 4 or above in Maths and English. All applicants will be interviewed- this includes maths and English skills scan, a trade test and a formal interview.
We currently offer pre-apprenticeship courses for applicants, in Maths and English, to support learners wishing improve their grades to the entry criteria. Learners should have secured employment.
Remember, an apprenticeship is a job so the hiring employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met alongside CRC’s entry criteria
We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.
There are three stages of assessment:
1. On-programme stage - observations and online knowledge exams
2. Gateway stage - successful completion of the skills, knowledge, values and behaviours, functional skills and training hours
3. End-point assessment. Online knowledge test. Portfolio of looks. External examiner observation of performance. Professional Discussion
This qualification is delivered at college for 1 day per month and reinforced by off job training in the workplace. This will develop the skills set, knowledge-based elements of the Apprenticeship, Values and Behaviours, Functional Skills and meet the 20% off the job training.
Functional skills are delivered and assessed in block weeks at college, with flexibility, relating to the service industry sector.
