Pre Access HC
Do you want to return to education and study a Level 2 course, which will help you develop broad study skills that will support your progression onto an Access to Higher Education course in the future, other Level 3 qualifications or other qualifications necessary to gain employment. This certificate is a 21 credit qualification
The units are a mixture of academic content and key skills and include units in the following areas:
Personal Study Skills (6 credits)
Creative Writing (3 credits)
Life Processes and living things (3 credits)
Punctuation and grammar (3 credits)
Speaking and listening (3 credits)
Reading Strategies (3 credits)
You might have the opportunity to improve your English and Maths by studying appropriate level qualifications either in the day or evening.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Following this qualification, if you have the appropriate Maths and English level, you may have the opportunity to progress on to other part-time or full-time programmes at Cambridge Regional College. It is an ideal progression route onto Access to Higher Education diplomas, for example, which would then allow you to access HE. You may however decide to look at other level 3 courses or seek employment.
You should have Level 1 or equivalent in Maths and English and be working towards Level 2.
Learning Assessment & Support
We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learnng and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.
The course will be assessed by continual assessment and involve practical write ups, project reports and essays and you will be marked against set criteria.

Once we have received your application, you will be invited to attend an interview/Welcome Event, which gives you the opportunity to discuss your choice of pathway and your future career plans with the Access team. You will also have a chance to look around the College and ask any questions you may have.
