Cambridge Regional College - Centre of Vocational Excellence

Beauty Therapy

A qualification in beauty therapy can lead to an exciting range of careers.

You could be working in a salon, a spa, abroad or even on a cruise liner – or you could use your training as a springboard to manage or run your own salon.

There are a wide range of programmes for you to choose from depending on your skills and qualifications. You can even specialise in media make-up and create special effects for film, television or theatre – see page 75 for more details.

All programmes are delivered in our state-of-the-art training salons. We also have two commercial salons where you will be able to gain valuable real-life work experience.

Many of our beauty students compete in the country’s top skills competitions with great results. The college has also been chosen to host various WorldSkills events – a recognition of our superb facilities.

In addition to your main qualification in Beauty Therapy, you will gain other skills within the college’s ‘Passport to Success’. Wider employability skills, English, Maths & IT, personal learning skills and social and community skills are highly valued by employers and will make you a more rounded, employable professional.
