Cambridge Regional College - Centre of Vocational Excellence

Back to Work

We can help you find employment, voluntary work, work experience, Traineeships and access to Apprenticeships.

In addition we can help you find suitable courses that can enhance your employment opportunities, making you more attractive to employers.

Our team can help enhance your CV and covering letters, and give you essential top tips for a successful interview.

Training for people who are unemployed

Are you unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers’ Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance?

If the answer is YES, then we may be able to help.

Our team provides pre-employment training tailored to your individual needs that, in most cases, lead to nationally-recognised qualifications and will not affect your benefits.

Training includes:

  • A 1-2-1 Information, Advice and Guidance session to look at your options for learning, training and employment
  • An assessment of what training you may need and regular learner support
  • The opportunity to attend sessions in CV writing, job searching, interview techniques, mock interviews and how to complete application forms
  • Work-related training (if applicable)

How do I access support and training?

The easiest way to access training is to ask your Jobcentre Advisor to refer you for an interview. Alternatively if you have recently (within the past 12 weeks) been given confirmation of your benefits, you can call 01223 418778 and book yourself in for an interview.
