Taking Teaching Further (TTF)

What can the Taking Teaching Further programme offer?

  • Full- and part-time positions
  • Competitive salary  
  • A wide range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme
  • 42 days holiday, plus bank holidays (pro-rata if part-time)
  • Up to 5 days continued professional development
  • Support to help you make this career change
  • Support in gaining a Level 5 teaching qualification, which is paid for through the initiative.

What subject areas can industry professionals enter the teaching profession in?

  • Construction – heating and ventilation plumbing
  • Electrical Installation
  • Engineering.

What’s special about the Taking Teaching Further route into teaching?

  • Share your industry knowledge and experience with students from the outset
  • Gain teaching experience whilst being supported in your studies
  • A reduced timetable In the first year gives you extra time to learn, prepare and gain essential skills through shadowing and mentoring
  • This is a 2-year qualification programme.

To qualify you must:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience and knowledge
  • Currently be working in the same industry, or have been within the last 18 months, as one of the industry sectors being recruited for
  • Not yet have a teaching qualification
  • Posses English and Maths qualifications to a functional skills level 2 or GCSE C / 4
  • Not already be working for CRC.
