Ofsted Report 2016

Our latest Ofsted Inspection again rated the college as Good. Inspectors praised the college for its excellent resources, ambitious students and strong relationships with employers, and highlighted CRC’s work in ensuring that the curriculum meets the needs of local and regional employers.

The report’s key findings include:

Students are ambitious and keen to obtain the highest grades possible

A substantially high proportion of students progress to further study, higher education, apprenticeships or employment

Apprentices benefit from good training, assessment and support

Students gain very good practical work-related skills, valued by employers

Students and apprentices benefit from excellent practical resources

The college has very good relationships with employers

Students behave well at college and respect each other and their teachers

Teaching, learning and assessment are good

Students take part in relevant external work experience, often at high-profile employers

Support for students to improve their English and mathematics skills is good

Positive and effective action by all staff ensures that learners are safe
