These programmes are a great mix of on-the-job training and expert tutoring, providing learners with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and gain real life experience working for an employer.
Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to jump start your career and learn in a different way from school, through practical on-the-job learning whilst gaining the qualifications you need. The programmes are specifically designed to develop a learner’s skills and knowledge needed to perform a particular job role in a chosen industry.
We work with hundreds of employers across the region who are looking for their next recruit and it could be you! We have programmes available in a wide range of sectors at Levels 2 to 5, meaning you can progress up the career ladder or even go on to University.

What is an Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment, holiday leave and employee benefits. By the end of an apprenticeship, you’ll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.
As an apprentice you will spend 80% of your time working and learning on the job and 20% on your studies.
Is there an age limit for Apprenticeships?
Apprentices can be any age over 16. There is no upper age limit meaning people in work can undertake an Apprenticeship as part of their training and development.
Can I get a degree with an Apprenticeship?
Yes, you can work up through Apprenticeships to achieve a degree through higher level Apprenticeships or with the qualifications you gain on your Apprenticeship you can go on to apply to University to study full time.
Does the apprentice have to attend college?
It depends on the apprenticeship programme; some apprenticeships require college attendance for a full or half-day per week during term time. However, many apprenticeships are delivered completely in the workplace.
What will I get paid as an Apprentice?
You will be paid anything from the Apprenticeship Minimum Wage upwards. Many employers also pay more, look through the Apprenticeship Vacancies to see the typical salaries.
