Food Bank appeal is launched for Christmas thanks to one of our students
A Games student has launched an appeal to help families in crisis at Christmas.
Nicola Hickford, 17, has set up a drop box in her classroom where she hopes students and staff can help gather goodies to take to the Cambridge Food Bank.
The drop box is in the Games Department of Room F211. Alternatively email Nicola’s tutor, Chris Baker, for details of how to deliver goods. Items can be dropped off until the second week of December.
Nicola, a Level 3 Games student, said: “I wanted to do something to help others. This is a great local charity to support.”
The Cambridge Food Bank is asking for specific items of:
Tinned meat, noodles, tinned meals (chicken in sauce, beef casserole), juice, cooking oil – 500 ml preferred, tinned potatoes, instant mash, salt & pepper, instant coffee or tea in small packets, tinned rice pudding, long-life sponges, jams or other spreads.
The Food Bank currently has plenty of: beans, fish, pasta, rice, toiletries and sanitary products.
They CANNOT distribute ALCOHOL or BOTTLED WATER. All goods should be undamaged and have long best before dates.
