Huntingdon Campus Open Day welcomes local community
Cambridge Regional College’s Huntingdon Campus Open Day, to be held at the college on California Road, Huntingdon on Saturday 23rd June, will have interest and attractions not just for budding students but also family and friends this year.
Billed as a ‘community fun day’, the event will showcase student skills and talents, with the accent on entertainment. Among the attractions are an outside broadcast by Huntingdon Community Radio, live music and performances, art and craft exhibitions and demonstrations of skills as diverse as hairdressing to woodworking to the arts and, back by popular demand, the return of the popular plant sale.
The new format has been devised by the college to inform and entertain at the same time. Vice Principal Michelle Dowse, speaking on behalf of the college said “We have seen tremendous interest and support in what we do at our Huntingdon campus following the merger with Cambridge Region College last August and the fun day is the ideal opportunity to show our appreciation and give something back to the local community.
We embarked on the journey to merge Cambridge Regional College with Huntingdonshire Regional College to create one college with two great campuses. Our fun day will be a celebration of all that college has to offer ensuring that students are work ready, life ready and career ready.
We have had a great first year at our Huntingdon Campus and this event is our way of thanking the local community and showing them some of the amazing things we have achieved at Huntingdon.”
The Huntingdon Campus open day and fun day offers school leavers and other learners aged 16 and older a wide range of career choices and course options, with both part-time and full-time courses available. College will be open from 9.30am on Saturday 23rd June.
