Top award for CRC Business apprentice

A top-performing apprentice from Cambridge Regional College has won a National Business Apprenticeship Award at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

Rebecca Luck, 20, was described as an “outstanding, motivated and committed learner”, picking up the top award after winning through to the finals from the south east regional competition.

She became an advocate of apprenticeships at her employers, Domino UK, representing the company at apprenticeship events and delivering presentations to schools.

Tina Spark, CRC work-based learning manager for business services, said Rebecca was an outstanding learner.

“Winning a national award of this calibre is a fantastic achievement. Rebecca is an outstanding, motivated and committed apprentice. We are absolutely delighted that all her hard work and enthusiasm has been recognised in the EEF Future Manufacturing awards.”

Rebecca, who worked as an Advanced Business Administration Apprentice at Domino, was a winner in the Future Manufacturing Awards for the South East Region for business apprentices last year and was put forward for the national awards.

“She has been an asset to her employer and for this reason she was appointed an ambassador for the apprenticeship programme at Domino UK. She represented the company by attending apprenticeship events and fairs and delivered presentations to local schools to promote the company apprenticeship programme. She is a great advocate of apprenticeships,” said Tina.

“She is a pleasure to assess as she has always been so keen to improve and develop her skills and performance and sets herself extremely high standards. I am continually impressed by how professional and adaptable Rebecca is.”
