Jake Hammond

Head Coach - CUFC Shadow Scholarship

Jake’s main role at the college is to oversee the player development for the Cambridge United Football Club, Shadow Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship has been going since 2012 and he is delighted with the progress that has been made. On the field the team won the British College League in their second season and also won the regional Futsal finals to ensure qualification for the national final. Many of his past players have been given the opportunity to pursue a career in playing or coaching for CUFC and other professional/semi-professional clubs.

Jake has been coaching football for 10 years. He started working in Soccer Schools in Peterborough, whilst working part time at Histon FC Academy. Jake was very fortunate to work with some fantastic players and people during his time there and a number of those players are now at Premiership and Championship clubs. In 2010 Jake was offered the chance to work for Cambridge United on a full time basis. Jake works with the Academy U9s, Shadow Squad U7s to U16s and coaches one of the Development Centre’s in Peterborough. He also works under the Head of Academy Recruitment to assist in helping to recruit the best players possible for all levels. Jake holds his 2 Coaching badges and will soon have his final assessment for his UEFA B coaching licence. He also holds The FA Youth Awards at Level 1, 2 and 3.
