Neil Andrews

Lecturer

Neil has been lecturing on the Sports Studies and Uniformed Services courses since 2008. Neil’s career in sport started as a sports coach, working in schools and clubs for children of all ages and abilities. During this time Neil also worked as a Primary School PE Teacher. In 2005 Neil’s specialism in football coaching led him into the roles of Community Coach and then Football Development Officer for Cambridgeshire Football Association. Together with these roles Neil also coached in footballing centres
of excellence and development centres for elite level players. Neil also had a successful semi-professional football career where he played for over ten years at Histon Football Club. Neil captained Histon FC during their rise through the non-league football pyramid and his time at the club finished with them operating in the fifth tier of English football.

Neil’s specialist area is in Sports coaching where he puts his UEFA B coaching licence to good use. He coaches the college football team that play in the British Colleges league. He also is a FA Coach Educator and runs the Level 1 football coaching certificate each year for CRC students, as well as helping The Football Association deliver coach education in the eastern region.
