Apprenticeship Grant for Employers
The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers supports businesses, who might not otherwise be able to, recruit new apprentices (aged 16-24 years old) or provide support for training existing staff on an Apprenticeship programme.
Eligibility and grant criteria is dependent on where your business is located.
If your business is in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough with less than 250 employees you can receive up to five grants for a new apprentice or an existing employee wishing to train through an Apprenticeship programme. The value of the grant is £2000 per apprentice aged 16-18 years old and £1500 per apprentice aged 19-24 years old. The grant applies to apprentices starting a new Apprenticeship or progressing onto an Advanced or Higher Level Apprenticeship. You will have to apply directly online: for more information click here.
For most other companies, outside of the areas mentioned above, to qualify you must have less than 50 employees, not had an employee start an Apprenticeship within the last 12 months and agree to commit to the apprentice’s employment for a minimum of 12 months. Other eligibility applies. For more information about the grant click here.
As an Apprenticeship Training Provider we are able to administer the grant for businesses outside of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough areas. We will deal with the paperwork process and the financial payment. If you wish to speak to us about the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers, contact the Apprenticeship Team on 01223 418778.
