Cambridge Regional College is recruiting now!!!!

The vtalentyear programme at Cambridge Regional College is offering 15 full-time volunteer places to young people aged 16-25.

Vtalentyear and Cambridge Regional College have developed a full-time volunteering opportunity for young people, who come from a diverse range of backgrounds aged 16-25. These young people will be able to engage in opportunities that lead to further training, education or employment. The activities undertaken by the volunteers’ are designed to complement and enhance Cambridge Regional College students’ formal educational experience.

Vtalentyear and Cambridge Regional College are looking for 15 young people with a commitment to their own personal development while at the same time enhancing the experience of others. Applicants, who are accepted onto the volunteering programme, after interview, will be working in their volunteering placements and working towards their qualifications. They need to commit to successfully complete a nationally recognised qualification within a 44 week timeframe. Volunteers will need to commit to be in college 30 hours a week including their volunteering and study hours per week (Monday to Friday). If accepted you will be offered a position in a particular area of the college.

  • Student Support
  • Sports
  • Mechanics/Engineering/Construction
  • Marketing
  • Library
  • Entertainment
  • Events organisation
  • and many more...

All of the placements offer specialist experience that, as a volunteer, will be both rewarding and enjoyable.

What's in it for you?

Volunteering can be very challenging and ultimately very rewarding. Volunteers will gain practical skills, life skills, and benefit from valuable training while in the field of volunteering work. Gaining experience at CRC can really improve a volunteer's chance when applying for a course or job.

How much commitment?


You will have to:
  • Commit 30 hours a week for 44 weeks
  • Start in September 2010 and finish in July 2011
  • Complete a nationally recognised qualification

What help will you receive?

  • You will receive a weekly allowance of up to £100 to cover travel and other living costs to help you attend your placement
  • Group and one-to-one support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Financial help for educational courses and trainings up to £1000

What do we expect from you?


As a volunteer you will be expected to:
  • Complete a CRB check
  • Attend all induction and training sessions
  • Act as professionals in volunteering placements
  • Complete all written requirements as agreed with the Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Meet all elements of the volunteer role description
