New Developments at the College

The College has currently undergone an exciting redevelopment, which included a major expansion of our Science Park Campus and have resulted in a single campus. The College has invested heavily in further improvements to its facilities for Hair & Beauty, Hospitality & Catering, Motor Vehicle and Sport. Since September 2009, all our main subject areas are now based at the Science Park Campus, including Hair & Beauty and Catering. This redevelopment has given us brand new accommodation for teaching and learning so our students can now benefit from the most up-to-date and purpose-built facilities.

The plans for the single campus include:

New Entrance

A new visitors’ entrance has been created at the front of the main building, adjacent to the Sports Hall. Staff and students will use alternate entrances to ensure there is a reception area and a visitors’ area focussed on individual needs.

New Hair & Beauty and Hospitality Facilities

A new state-of-the-art Hair & Beauty and Catering & Hospitality now includes classrooms, training studios and kitchens. There are now professional salons, a brand new restaurant and bistro which will all be open to the public in the Autumn.

Additional Sports Facilities

An additional Sports Hall, similar in size to the existing hall, has been built to complement the recently refurbished gym facility. The new building has enabled the College to accommodate more indoor sports activities for teaching and external bookings. In addition to current student recreational facilities, a Multi-Use Games Area has been created, with new areas of seating for socialising.

Dedicated Motor Vehicle Workshops

New Motor Vehicle workshops has been built, which provides a dedicated space to deliver training. The recent move of the facility from its current position means the vacated space can be used for the expansion of the existing Construction training facilities.
