Getting To College & Transport

Getting to Cambridge Regional College has never been easier!

 

Route Planning

Cambridge Regional College runs its own contract bus services for our full time students. The service picks up from different towns and villages in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk (see our prospectus or the timetable for details) Routes may be subject to change in 2012.

All routes are timed to arrive at the College prior to 08:45 and depart at 16:15 after lessons finish. The bus service will operate during term time only.

Charges for a 2011-12 bus pass to use this service are £445 per academic year if paid in full in advance or £475 if paid in instalments (£175 deposit and 3 monthly direct debit payments of £100). Direct Debit Form

    Route 8 and 10 are now withdrawn due to opening of Cambridge Guided Busway

    Route 6 - Bluntisham has been removed, Willingham and Earith have been added from Route 8

    Public Bus Services

    For Public Bus timetables go to the Cambridgeshire County Council Web site

    If you are unable to use the College Contract Buses because you do not live near one of the College bus routes, you could be eligible for assistance with public bus transport costs. However, in order to qualify for this you need to live more than 3 miles from the College.

    Public Train Services

    Scholar Train Season tickets are available from the two train operating companies that provide trains to Cambridge. Stations covered and ticket purchase information.

    If you live in Cambridgeshire, you could be eligible for assistance with train costs.

    Cycling

    A cycle allowance is available to students in Cambridgeshire who are entitled to subsidised transport but choose to cycle instead. This is £40 per term, payable in arrears and claimed on a term by term basis. Retrospective payment can only be considered for the current academic year. Claim forms are available from C111 or from the Local Authority Education Transport team, and need to be returned to Cambridgeshire County Council.
