Art & Design
The reputation of CRC’s Centre for The Arts has grown greatly in recent years. To help with the development of this well deserved reputation, CRC invested in purpose-built Art and Design Studios at our Science Park campus. Here students enjoy the very best in teaching using our outstanding modern facilities. So if you are interested in making a career of your creative talents, come and join one of the many Art & Design courses on offer.
Business & Office Administration
A career in business is versatile, exciting and challenging. We offer a range of business and administration courses to help you on the road to a successful career. We try to ensure that everyone has access to a programme which suits their needs. Our Level 1 and 2 programmes enable you to gain the right skills to help you progress into employment or onto our Level 3 programmes, which can lead to a Degree course at University. A range of additional modules - including GCSEs and IT is also available.
Care, Health & Early Years
We welcome all applications for our Care, Health and Early Years courses which are offered from Levels 1 to 5. As a recognised Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Care, we take great pride in providing specialist courses, up to date careers information, advice on learning pathways and qualifications both with and without exams. We combine theory and practice to offer a wide variety of work related learning opportunities.
Catering, Hospitality & Reception
CRC has it’s own training restaurant run by our Catering and Hospitality students. From day one, you learn the professional skills of catering and front of house services. You will also contribute to the success of the restaurant outlets, which are open to the public during term time. Each of our catering courses places emphasis on practical experience. With the help of a team of highly qualified and industry-experienced professionals CRC students go on to employment at senior levels and to Higher Education courses. Many students progress to study at University or join International Hotel Chains on a Management Training Programme.
Computing & IT
Almost every aspect of modern life is linked to Information Technology. There are many areas in which you can specialise, from technical writing, to business application development and support. Programmes offered are practical and work related. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. CRC has extensive computing facilities on which we run state of the art software and from where we offer an excellent range of study options from website design to technical systems support, leading to a wide range of rewarding careers in IT and associated functions.
Construction
CRC is a recognised Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Construction. We have excellent workshop facilities and our professionally qualified and experienced tutors can provide you with the knowledge and skills to progress your career within the construction industry. The superb SmartLIFE Training Centre at our Science Park campus is an excellent environment in which to learn the skills and knowledge to take you into employment, further training or onto Higher Education. We have excellent contacts with partners in the Construction industry and can advise you on the wide range of career paths available and Work Based Learning.
Engineering
The excellent facilities in CRC’s Engineering workshops, laboratories and its new motor vehicle workshops enable you to develop the right skills and knowledge to help you progress to employment in the relevant industry or Higher Education. CRC’s close relationship with the industry ensures that we are in step with the latest technological advances, which means you get the very best training available.
English as a Foreign Language & ESOL
The Cambridge School of English offers full and part-time courses in EFL for Beginners to Advanced level students. English courses are open all year round and you can join at any time. Courses cover reading, writing, speaking and listening. Specialised options focus on specific areas such as: Academic English, Speaking and Listening, IELTS Exam Preparation, English for Science, Technology, Business and IT Skills. These classes develop independent learning skills, analytical and critical thinking, academic communication, confidence in using English and strategies for entry to Higher Education or employment.

Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy
CRC provides students with ideal facilities and the latest equipment with which to learn and refine their skills. Open to the public, the hair & beauty studios are run by students under the watchful eyes of CRC’s professionally qualified and experienced hairdressing and beauty therapy staff. Our comprehensive range of programmes means that no matter which specialism you choose, we can help develop your talents and help you to find employment in the industry, or even start a business of your own.

Media
At CRC our outstanding specialist facilities in purpose-built accommodation, provide a perfect environment in which to study the many different aspects of these stimulating career paths. We have close links with specialists in the media industry which enables us to offer fantastic work-related experiences that will give you the hands-on training that will prepare you for work in the industry.

Public/Uniformed Services
The uniformed and public services are always looking for physically fit, enthusiastic and well prepared recruits to train for a variety of careers within the services, such as the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Paramedics, Customs & Excise and Security. Key Skills of leadership, assertiveness, physical fitness and personal responsibility are very important and emphasised in all of our courses.
Science
Cambridge is the ideal place to study Science. Over the years the city and its University have become synonymous with scientific research. This is a tradition that CRC helps to maintain through its work at the Science Park campus. Study science at CRC and you can follow a variety of pathways, including industrial, medical and forensic.
Sports Studies
The sport & leisure industry is massive, having experienced huge growth over the last five years. It is now one of the largest employers in the world and offers a wide range of career opportunities. Most people today are members of a sports club or attend a sporting event on a regular basis. Sport is important to us all and, with fitness playing a key role in our health, it is now an essential component to modern life. Active participation in sport offers a wide range of benefits, not least improved health & fitness, enhanced communication and social skills, and more positive attitudes. There are also many jobs in sport, which don¹t actually involve playing, such as public relations, marketing, groundkeeping, coaching and teaching.
Supportive Learning
CRC has a range of provision suitable for students with a variety of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, both at College and in the Community. We offer link provision to school-aged pupils and taster sessions to adults, both to introduce CRC and help them make the right choice of programme.

Travel & Tourism is one of the UK¹s fastest-growing industries, with the number of people taking overseas holidays increasing rapidly. Return to learn and progress to a University course. Access to HE courses build your knowledge, skills and confidence to follow a new career path. You will work with like-minded adults to change direction and develop opportunities for the future.
Work Bases Learning & Apprenticeships
Work Based Learning at Cambridge Regional College offers a wide spectrum of courses designed to suit your needs. We work with over 400 local employers to offer training for people aged 16-24 and beyond. If you’re keen to earn while you learn an Apprenticeship may be for you, but if you’re not quite ready for work, the College offers alternative full-time courses to prepare you for the workplace or other training opportunities.
